WHO WE ARE:
Alloway
Creek Gardens, an herb farm, has been an ongoing business for over 20
years. We pride ourselves on having the experience necessary to deliver
the hard to find or unusual herbs and perennials that our customers
expect. What can we tell you about Alloway that isn't apparent when
you visit? Iis located on a pre-Civil War homestead just southeast of
Gettysburg, PA.
Aside from the creek and the area's natural beauty with native plants, and
plenty of wildlife, it's our family's farm with a possible Native American
origin for its name. "Wulalowe," meaning "beautiful fox
tail" once anglicized becomes Alloway. Another possibility would be
as the Scottish surname. But those who named the creek are long gone,
leaving us to try and decipher it.
The Farm features a large selection of herbs, perennials, and native
plants, plus display gardens, an authentic log-house gift shop and a variety of
special lectures, activities and workshops.
Open April thru September, please call for special fall and Christmas
hours.
